Promise 'instantaneous banner expansions and fluid touch interaction'. Ooh.
Cooliris’ new standalone 3D ads business unit, AdJitsu is behind the tech, which Amobee will make available to advertisers using its as delivery platform.
It lets the users move an image around in 3D by pushing it with the finger. A 3D walkaround can also be obtained by tipping the screen back and forward.
In fact, the tech has already been used for Samsung’s Galaxy SII smartphone campaign on iPad. But Amobee believes it can improve on this execution.
Trevor Healy, Amobee's CEO, said: “We intend to leapfrog iAd and drive mobile advertising to an entirely new experience.”
Soujanya Bhumkar, Cooliris CEO, added: "Amobee’s leading-edge mobile advertising platform makes them an ideal partner to bring our stunning immersive 3D ad experiences to the largest advertisers and customers worldwide.
"Our alliance will raise the bar in mobile display advertising to unprecedented heights.”
