Conde Nast reveals 3.8m downloads of iOS apps

And says it has learned that iPad is not a mobile device.

Magazine publisher Conde Nast has racked up more than 3.8 million downloads of its iOS apps for mags like Wired, GQ, Vanity Fair and Glamour.

The company has surveyed these readers, and found that they spend an average of 160 minutes a month using the apps, compared to 45 minutes a month with the print editions.

SVP of market research Scott McDonald tells PaidContent that Conde Nast has also learned that people using the company's iPad apps say they tend to leave their tablet at home.

Meanwhile, it seems app users are happy with the content they're being served.

McDonald says that 83% say they are likely to buy the next month's issue when it becomes available, while 89% think the apps are easy to use.
