81.9 million app users in April across the five big Euro markets.
Fresh from announcing that there were 69.6 million mobile app users in the US in April, comScore has published comparable stats for Europe.
Well, five European countries anyway: the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Across those five countries, 81.9 million people used apps in April this year, while 58.9 million used their mobile browser.
Maps was the most popular app category across the EU5 countries, with 11.1 million users. It's followed by social networking (9.5 million) and weather (9.4 million).
As in the US, social networking showed the biggest growth as an app category in the last year, rising 239.4%.
