New Device Essentials service uncovers popularity of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
comScore has launched a new service that slices and dices data on digital traffic by device, digging into data usage on computers, mobile phones, tablets and other connected devices.
To launch Device Essentials, the company has published an array of figures from 13 countries, outlining the data traffic of non-computer devices.
It reveals that in the UK, Apple's iOS devices account for the lion's share of this data usage: 21.3% comes from iPad, 29.9% from iPhone and 8.7% from iPod touch - 59.9% overall. Looking at tablet traffic specifically, the iPad currently accounts for more than 89% across all markets.
The data also shows the growth of Android in some markets, notably the US where Android smartphones account for 35.6% of non-computer data traffic, ahead of iPhone's 23.5%.
