Comical launch from ROK

ROK Comics has introduced a new service that lets mobile users view, share and even create mobile comics.

The company claims to have a range of licensed material from big name publishers lined up for the service, ranging from contemporary material to classics.

It will also offer a Flash-based web service called FreeFall Comics that enables consumers to create strips using their own photos with ready-made characters/backgrounds provided by ROK.

The service can even monetise these creative ideas: the audience can pay to download them or subscribe using MMS. A 50 per cent rev share is available on every sale, with full access to sales statistics, viewings and more. Free samples can be delivered to other users via mobile and email.

ROK Comics is being handled by ROKMotion, a new offshoot of the video and TV ROK Entertainment. ROKMotion was formerly called TLMH, which was recently purchased by ROK.
