MediaFLO will feature more than 300 live college basketball games this season.
Following a deal with its content partners CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV and FOX Mobile, the Qualcomm-backed mobile TV format will continue to provide live coverage of many match-ups for the rest of the 2008 season, including championship games across all major conferences and Men's College Basketball Tournament games. It will also deliver live coverage of more than 25 women's college basketball games, including the Conference and Division 1 and 2 Championship games. It’s all a bit of a mystery to the limeys at ME. In the UK, college sport is played by hungover students on muddy football pitches.
Since launching in March 2007, FLO TV has delivered close to 2,000 hours of live sporting event coverage ranging from the U.S. Open, college football, and men's professional basketball games to English Premier League soccer, MLS soccer, X Games, NASCAR Racing, and tennis from Wimbledon.
FLO TV is offered by Verizon, but the partnership with AT&T, though announced in Feb 2007 is still to go live.
