Available for weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs...
Clixtr has gone live with an iPhone application that lets people upload their photos, and then have them grouped with those of other users nearby.
The idea is to provide an easy way for people to share photos taken at the same event - weddings, parties, music festivals and so on.
Users can create events on the Clixtr server, and then when people at the same location upload their photos, they'll be offered the choice of grouping them in the album created by the first uploader.
The app can also be used to browse nearby events. It's available now on the App Store for £1.79, having been unveiled at yesterday's TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco.
Clixtr faces challenges, though. Firstly, how many weddings have you been to where everyone owns an iPhone? And secondly, people tend to share photos from these kinds of events on Facebook.

"Tired of waiting for your friends to upload photos to Facebook?" suggests Clixt's App Store product description. We suspect that many users would be happy to wait if it meant ALL their friends can see and comment on the photos.
