FestiveTones goes live on the App Store
UK developer Electric Pocket has released a Christmas-themed version of its MailTones app for iPhone.
The new version - FestiveTones - lets users select different tones to play when emailed by specific contacts.
The festive theme means those include the likes of Jingle Bells, We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Good King Wenceslas.
The app (App Store link) also uses push notifications to let users know the sender and subject of new email messages, so they can decide whether to fire up the iPhone's Mail app to read them.
However, the nature of iPhone means to make all this work, users have to set their emails to be forwarded through Electric Pocket's servers - something which may put off some users.
