Chinese 3G subscribers pass 100m

Almost half are on China Mobile.

China's 3G market hit 102 million customers in September, with 43.2 million on China Mobile's own TD-SCDMA 3G tech, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Asia Pacific's mobile market has proved to be a fast growing location. Recently we reported the region’s mobile internet use was greater than that of the UK, the US, Australia, Sweden and the UK.

Further results show that China had 952.3 million mobile phone users and 288.4 million landlines overall for September. However, mobile growth has seen landline use decrease as users make the transition.

The report claims China's broadband internet users hit 149.9 million for the month, which is up 23.6 million year-on-year as dial-up connections fell to 5.7 million.

China's total telephone market hit a new high of 1.24 billion.
