World's largest operator hopes to kickstart offering with low-cost smartphones.
Reuters reports on China Mobile's 3G strategy, which appears to be based on plying subscribers with cheap smartphones.
The company, which has build its 3G network upon the TD-SCDMA standard that is only used in China, reckons it'll soon be selling handsets for $146 each compared to $292-584 currently.
Back in March China Mobile reportedly asked some the world's largest handset manufacturers to help it solve the "severe" problems it's experiencing with its 3G technology.
