World’s biggest operator adds almost 65 million customers in a year.
And its top tier subs are rising especially fast. China Mobile’s 3G subcribers rose by 2.17 million last month pushing total subscribers to over 45 million, which we recently reported accounts for almost half of all China's 3G subscribers.
Of course, none of these 3G subs are using an Apple's iPhone as China Mobile has yet to supply the device to their customers despite a number of talks in the past.
When questioned about the supply of Apple devices at the Mobile Asia Congress, Xin Fanfei, VP, China Mobile, said: "It’s more likely that we’ll see a deal after our 4G service is launched."
However, if what the Chinese government has said is true, 4G technology won't be in operation until approximately 2014.
