German publisher teams with Gametowin for localised titles.
German mobile games publisher HandyGames has inked a distribution deal with Chinese firm Gametowin, which will see HandyGames' titles made available in China.
The deal is kicking off with a fully localised version of Devils & Demons, with more to follow later this year and in 2010. Devils & Demons is already available on China Mobile's games portal.
"For HandyGames, China represents a growth market with huge potential," says CEO Christopher Kassulke. "The co-operation with Gametowin is an important step in our global growth strategy."
HandyGames isn't the first mobile games publisher to target China, although many have come a cropper in the past, either through dodgy deals or a lack of interest in their titles from Chinese mobile users.
However, mobile content firms are looking again at the Chinese market now, thanks to the rollout of 3G networks and a hoped-for boom in demand for games and apps.

HandyGames will be one of the first companies to find out if more Chinese 3G users means more games revenues for Western publishers.
