Claims it's 'the world's slimmest smartphone'.
Huawei unveiled the Ascend P1 S at CES 2012, boasting its 6.68mm frame made it the world's slimmest smartphone. However, a year later, and Alcatel has introduced the 6.45mm thin One Touch Idol Ultra at CES 2013.
The device features a 4.7-inch HD AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera – which captures 1080p video – and Android Jelly Bean power.
Alain Lejeune, head of research and development for Alcatel One Touch, said: "The ONE TOUCH Idol device series represents a breakthrough in technology.
"We've pushed the barriers on design, resulting in devices that offer the perfect balance between ultra-slim form factor, large display, outstanding performance, and rich user experience, while keeping the devices affordably priced to consumers."
The firm also introduced another couple of devices:
* One Touch Idol: 'Record-breaking lightness' at just 110 grams (3.88 oz), dual-core processor, 4.7-inch IPS screen, 8MP camera and 2MP front camera, Android Jelly Bean.
* One Touch Scribe HD: Five-inch HD screen, quad-core processor, 4G, 8MP camera and 720p HD front camera, Android Jelly Bean.
