Real-time chat and private forums to take on Facebook.
Mobile social games community Cellufun has a new feature: groups.
It's letting its users create groups around (almost) any topic they like, with real-time chat and private forums, as well as 'officers' who get to decide who's in and who's out.
CEO Neil Edwards says the service, which launched quietly recently, is already proving a success.
"So many of our users are part of groups on Facebook and MySpace, so we knew letting them have access to groups on their mobile phones would be hugely popular," he says.
"Within a couple of days of launching the program, we had 800 groups sprout up."

Not bad, considering that Cellufun is charging users to set groups up - although at 100 of the company's virtual FunCoins currency a pop (around $1 in real money), it's not rich just yet.
"Because Cellufun groups can be created instantly on a platform with tremendous global penetration, we will become a real authority on what people across the world are talking about."
