Cellfish Media acquires Airborne Mobile

Mobile marketing firm snaps up one of the original pioneers of mobile content.

Airborne is the Canadian firm that first began selling branded mobile entertainment products in the early noughties.

It was actually sold once before, in 2005 to the Japanese company Cybird, before being bought back by the owners in 2008.

The newly formed Airborne Studios will combine Cellfish Media’s original-content publishing with Airborne Mobile’s branded apps such as Family Guy, Betty Boop and FHM.

The catalogue will number around 35,000 pieces from 110 licensing partners.
