BuzzCity ads served up 38 per cent in Q1

That's 23.2bn for the Singapore-based firm.

Buzz City's new report reveals ongoing growth in all markets and explosive growth in selected regions.

Despite political upheaval, Egypt was up 144 per cent, while Spain grew 225 per cent, China was up 130 per cent, South Korea and Thailand leapt 92 per and Turkey grew 82  per cent.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg,” said BuzzCity CEO, Dr KF Lai. “Consumer demand for mobile content such as games continues to grow and advertisers are taking advantage of this by, for example using pay-per download games as a key part of ad campaigns.

"This is particularly true of certain mobile VAS players in Indonesia, South Africa, India, and Mexico.”

Nokia still dominates in terms of devices, with 46 per cent. Samsung has 12.5 per cent and Sony Ericsson 12.5 per cent.

1. India – 4.024 bn
2. Indonesia – 2.992bn
3. United States – 1.137bn
4. South Korea – 372m
5. South Africa – 884m
6. Saudi Arabia – 519m
7. Vietnam – 404m
