Buzz iPhone app blends video uploads with location

Want to find user-generated content in your area? There's an app for that...

A new iPhone application lets people upload videos from their iPhone 3GS and tag them by location, while browsing other videos that have been uploaded by people nearby.

Buzz is free to use, and claims to be the first app ever to combine user-generated videos with location-based searching. A version is also available for the iPhone 3G, although without the video upload capabilities.

Its App Store listing suggests entertainment will be a big feature, promising the ability to "find the coolest party happening NOW in San Francisco" and to "see who's on stage at the Music Festival in Chicago".

However, VentureBeat points out that it could be just as useful for events and political protests, although that depends on enough people having iPhone 3GS handsets with the app installed to be truly useful.
