2010 was an interesting year. Despite the unpredictable and often sluggish economic growth, mobile advertising and marketing have been buoyant: the BuzzCity mobile advertising network delivered 70 per cent more ads than it did in 2009.

This observation was backed up by Opera, which recently reported that October was a record month for global mobile data traffic while Gartner forecasted that by 2013 cellphones will be the most common device to access the internet.
