I-play has announced an innovative promotion that will see buyers of its new Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet iPhone game get the first ten chapters of an audiobook from the same series.
The Women's Murder Club books have spawned a popular series of PC games, racking up more than 15 million downloads in recent years. Death in Scarlet is the first time the series has got an iPhone version.
Buyers will get ten chapters of The 8th Confession, the latest audiobook in the series. It sounds like a good incentive for fans of the books, which are penned by James Patterson.
Equally, it sounds like a good deal for Patterson and his publisher, who could attract new fans to the books (and audiobooks) who discover the series through the iPhone game.
Death in Scarlet is also an example of I-play joining up the dots between its different gaming divisions - PC and mobile.
