Burger King serves up mobile games

Burger King is to sell downloadable games, but probably not inside a sesame bun.

The fast food giant teamed up with content provider Mobliss to create games based on Burger King’s ‘The King’ brand. It plans to promote them through in-restaurant signage and packaging from spring 2008. The games will be available via shortcode, and Mobliss will also distribute them through direct publishing agreements with Sprint, AT&T, U.S. Cellular, Verizon, Alltel and T-Mobile.

"Anyone can buy advertising space in gaming; our vision is to be successful in generating original content that is relevant to our consumer," said Russ Klein, president, global marketing, strategy and innovation at Burger King Corp. "Content-generated share of voice wins hearts and commands attention in an over-crowded medium."
