Buongiorno will let consumers browse WAP sites for ringtones and listen before they buy.
The D2C giant will use Vidiator’s Xenon Streamer platform to power this streaming function in what the partners describe as an industry first. Customers can also use it to dynamically create personal server-side music playlists from their preferred ringtones.Buongiorno claims that listening to a streamed playlist using the standard 3GPP streaming player on a handset can be an alternative to using an MP3 player.
Ulderico Arcidiaco, CTO of Buongiorno, said: “The new installation enables us to offer a much-requested ringtone sampling service, which we anticipate will increase our revenue. Xenon Streamer also enables server-sided, user-generated music streaming services, which we believe will be popular."
