Plans to build studio's mobile gaming success.
Spanish mobile and social games developer Bravo Game Studios has a new CEO: mobile industry veteran James Scalpello.
He joins from Glu Mobile, where he was marketing director EMEA. Before that, he was VP global marketing at THQ Wireless, having previously held non-mobile roles at THQ, Rage Games, EA and Mindscape.
"Having been involved in the mobile arena for many years I’ve watched Bravo with interest, and have been impressed with their ability to deliver high-quality mobile games across multiple platforms," says Scalpello. "My job now is to help the company retain the momentum that it’s currently experiencing and help drive the business forward to the next level."
Bravo Game Studios boss Jose Miguel Lopez is enthusiastic about the new hire. "I’m delighted to be able to bring someone like James into the business, with his vast wealth of contacts, business acumen and mobile industry expertise."
Bravo's iPhone games include Touch Racing Nitro, Mr. Hat and the Magic Cube, Penalty World Challenge 2010, Resurrection and (for Cartoon Network) Power Puff Girls Snowboarding. The company launched during last year's Mobile World Congress.
