Buongiorno has made it two big acquisitions in two weeks, buying mobile video production agency video Inventa for £1m.
The deal comes barely days after the Buongiorno’s Hong Kong subsid swooped for Chinese content aggregator eDongAsia.
Inventa, co-founded by the superstar DJ Pete Tong, produced more than 2,300 minutes of original video clips last year. Its shows featured high-profile brands and personalities such as celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, DJ Roger Sanchez and the Ministry of Sound.
Luca Pagano, MD of Buongiorno UK, said: “Buongiorno’s ability to create special TV formats designed for video phones will be optimised by Inventa’s creative and production abilities. The UK is one of the most advanced markets in the world for new media and this acquisition confirms Buongiorno’s drive to innovate and its commitment to play a leading role in the booming market for mobile video and TV.”
Buongiorno has some experience in video already. Its Soccer Addicts show invites football fans to make video calls to a shortcode and lets other users watch the best clips.
