Dutch firm secures funds to take social gaming beyond the app stores.
BoosterMedia currently distributes browser-based mobile games in over 25 countries in Europe, Latin America and South-East Asia.
It now plans to use the extra funds to introduce enhancements such as game-to-platform social integration, riend connections, virtual currencies, achievements and leaderboards.
“With this latest investment, we can further execute on our ambition to establish the largest network for mobile browser-game distribution”, said CEO and Founder Laurens Rutten.
“Over the last year, we have seen a sharp increase in the quality of HTML5 games that are available, including good mobile social games. We want to provide developers a dedicated channel to reach mobile gamers in a new way.”
The round was led by Truffle Capital (Paris, France) and Solid Ventures (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), two of the previous investors in the company.
