BOLT browser announces first pre-load

And the handset vendor is... Romania's Visual Fan.

Under this agreement, Visual Fan will pre-load BOLT as the default browser on its new Allview branded handsets.

Adrian Visan, development manager at Visual Fan, said: "We put various mobile browsers through significant testing and found that BOLT not only ran well on all of our handsets, but also offered the fastest page load speeds with the highest quality rendering. Our collaboration with Bitstream is sure to add utility and value to Allview phones."

The first Allview to be preloaded with BOLT is the F1 X-perience, a dual SIM, dual standby touchscreen GSM handset with accelerometer, customisable widget menu, TV and FM radio tuners, MP3 player, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 3.2 MP camera.

Bitstream says BOLT has averaged greater than 50 per cent growth in usage each month since the app made its public debut at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Since its introduction, 2.4 million BOLT accounts have been created, with 2.5 million pages being served up each day.
