Disney is to launch its own dedicated mobile channel in Germany with local content specialist Bob Mobile.
The German subsidiary of the Hollywood studio, Living Mobile, licensed a range of film and TV titles to Bob (great name). The new channel will offer wallpapers, sounds, videos and games and episodes of Disney classics offered every week for download.
Bob Mobile is developer as distributor of content, which markets its D2C services under the Bob Mobile, pinksim! und Call4cash brands. The company sells content in several European markets and claims a potential audience of over 150 million. It also develops products, which it licenses to third parties in over 30 countries.
Earlier this week Bob approved a rights issue to raise capital for further expansion into the Netherlands, Greece and the Czech Republic.
