Mobile social networking specialist raises funds before US expansion.
Australia-based Bluepulse raised the $6 million from VantagePoint Venture Partners and has moved into YouTube's former offices in Silicon Valley ahead of a US push for its beta product.
The company's D2C service - which it claims has already generated 100 million page views its December 2006 beta launch - is an on-device app that offers users free one-to-one and broadcast messaging, profiles, picture and video sharing and chat.
Ben Keighran, founder and CEO of Bluepulse, said: "Because the app has been built for the handset from the ground up, it offers a mobile-specific social networking experience, rather than a pared down web experience on a phone."
