BlackBerry Z10 achieves record sales

New smartphone smashes previous BB sales records since launching in the UK and Canada.

Following its launch just one week ago, BlackBerry’s new Z10 smartphone has broken the company’s previous sales records since arriving in the UK and Canada.

BlackBerry president and CEO Thorsten Heins, revealed: "In Canada, yesterday was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50 per cent better than any other launch day in our history in Canada.

"In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone." he added.

However, while Heins was keen to emphasise the success of the new BlackBerry device, the firm has yet to divulge any sales figures.

While the BlackBerry Z10 went on sale the day after launching last week in the UK and yesterday in Canada, it will not be hitting shelves in the US until the beginning of March.

Meanwhile, the BlackBerry Q10, which features the firm’s trademark physical QWERTY keyboard, will not be on sale in the US until May.
