Reports say about 500,000 units sold by Verizon Wireless in the first month after November 21st launch.

The Wall Street Journal says sources have indicated that Verizon Wireless sold around half a million BlackBerry Storms in the month after its November 21st launch.

However, the article says the handset has been plagued by software glitches, with RIM CEO Jim Basillie admitting that it and Verizon made the launch date by the "skin  of their teeth".

The Storm is exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the US and with parent Vodafone elsewhere.

It's aimed at both consumer and business users, with Vodafone promising access to a range of social media apps, multimedia content and satellite navigation.
