Xtreme Labs has released a new Twitter app for BlackBerry handsets: Twixtreme (App World link).
The free app claims to be "The Sweetest Twitter Client for BlackBerry", which is quite a claim given the fierce competition from apps like TwitterBerry, Ubertwitter and Seesmic.
One feature that may appeal to users is the fact that Twixtreme can be used even if you don't have a Twitter account (although we wonder why you'd be downloading a Twitter app if that were the case).
It's perhaps no surprise that BlackBerry is proving a popular platform for Twitter applications, given RIM's historic focus on messaging and communications.
Xtreme Labs has previously released the urbanspoon and NBA Game Time apps for BlackBerry.
