RIM's follow-up targeted at 'both men and women for both professional and personal use'

The BlackBerry Bold 2 (aka 9700) will be begin rolling out around the world during November.

The device packs 3G HSDPA, 624 MHz processor, 256MB Flash memory, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Like the Storm 2 announced last week, the Bold 2 has a media player for videos, pictures and music (music play now extended up to 38 hours), plus support for BlackBerry Desktop Manager, BlackBerry Media Sync.

RIM says it can also sync with iTunes and Windows Media Player music (DRM-free MP3s only).

Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion, said: "The BlackBerry Bold 9700 builds on the success of the original BlackBerry Bold with new, state-of-the-art features and a smaller, lighter and highly optimized design that looks, feels and performs great."
