Bitbop Germany names launch partners

New owner Jesta Digital signs up MTV, Sony Pictures, HBO, Red Bull Media House and more for upcoming TV and movie service.

When Jesta bought Fox last year, one of the assets it acquired was Bitbop, which delivers streaming content over 3G or Wi-Fi to users on mobile or PC. It also supports temporary downloads.

Bitbop has already been launched in the US, and was officially picked up by Verizon last month.

Now, Jesta is prepping its German launch for spring 2011 at 9.99 euros a month. It plans to graduate from TV to offer full-length movies later this year.

The full list of partners os Networks Germany (MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon), Sony Pictures (Sony Pictures Television, Sony Retro), HBO, Seven-One Intermedia (ProSieben, SAT.1, kabel eins), Brainpool Artist & Content Services (MySpass.de), Red Bull Media House, Studio Hamburg Distribution & Marketing (Studio Hamburg, ARD Video, Histoclips) and ZDF Enterprises.
