The Aussies may be one down in the Ashes, but Melbourne developer Firemint is standing tall in iPhone gaming.
The company has taken first and second spot in trade site PocketGamer.biz's Q2 iPhone Quality Index, which aggregates review scores for iPhone games from nine key consumer sites.
Firemint's Real Racing topped the list with an average review score of 9.33 out of 10 from six reviews, while its Flight Control game got the same average score, but from three reviews. The top five is rounded out by Smule's Leaf Trombone: World Stage, PopCap Games' Peggle, and Chillingo's Toki Tori.
The site has also drawn up publisher rankings for Q2, with I-play coming top with an average review score of 8.02. That's largely thanks to rave reviews of its Fast & Furious: The Game title, which was developed for I-play by, yes, Firemint.
The rest of the top five consists of EA Mobile (7.66), Glu Mobile (7.58), Chillingo (7.57) and Gameloft (7.43).
