Digital music giant soon to be in the hands of music retail giant for $121 million.
US retail giant Best Buy has confirmed it plans to buy online and mobile music service provider Napster for $121 million in cash.Reuters says the deal will include Napster's 700,000 paying subscribers across web and mobile platforms.
Best Buy is expected to use Napster to mount a serious challenge to Apple's iTunes, which holds 70 per cent of the US digital music market.
In mobile, Napster has deals with the likes over O2, TIM and AT&T, with Ericsson handling implementation and deployment.
