Social networking giant unveils global mobile partnership programme.
Bebo has launched its Open Mobile partnership programme, with the goal of enabling third parties to offer and integrate with its eponymous social networking site in double quick time.The scheme builds on Bebo's Open Media platform, launched in November 2007 to enable media companies to tap into its 50 million member community.
Bebo Open Mobile, however, is aimed at mobile operators, handset makers and developers and offers solutions for content distribution, promotion and monetisation across the mobile web, messaging and widgets.
It comprises three elements:
- Bebo Open Mobile Internet: Gives partners the ability to deploy features on the Bebo mobile site, including customised navigation, mobile advertising support and enhanced statistics.

- Bebo Open Mobile Messaging: Provides two-way messaging directly to Bebo Open Mobile partners through the messaging interfaces most used by Bebo members.
- Bebo Open Mobile Development API: Allows partners to create applications, widgets and other interfaces to directly serve the Bebo community.
