BBC mobile chief moves on

The BBC is looking for a new controller of mobile as Matthew Postage takes on R&D role at the Corporation.

Matthew Postgate has been appointed Controller of BBC Research & Innovation, having served as its Controller of Mobile since May last year.

During that time Postgate was responsible for the relaunch of BBC Mobile, the roll out of iPlayer on iPhone and the first download version of iPlayer on the Nokia N96.

He will continue to oversee the BBC's mobile operations in the short-term until his successor is appointed.

In his new role Postagate will be responsible for shaping and leading all research and innovation activities at the BBC, reporting to Erik Huggers, the Corporation's Director of Future Media and Technology.
