Pushes shares up 20 per cent.
Bango is a UK mobile billing veteran – and winner of the ME Best Transactions Company Awards 2011 – which powers the payments systems of multiple indies, operators and OEMs. Clients include RIM's BlackBerry App World, Opera, Rogers and others.
Now, it says it's signed an agreement to provide services to Amazon, but gave no specifics.
Shares shot up, and investors were buoyed by the news after some negative updates from Bango about slower than expected revenue from current partnerships.
Of course, the speculation now will be all about Kindle. If it turns out that Bango has a role to play here, and that Amazon's line of affordable and software-integrated devices is as successful as many believe, then this could prove to be an historic day for the UK firm.
