Augmented reality startup Layar says it now has more than one million active users of its mobile apps.
That's up from just over 700,000 in June this year, showing decent growth for the company.
The new milestone came in a blog post from the company on its decision to merge the Layar developer and publisher environments, to make it easier for companies to create and manage their Layar projects.
Layar has also launched its new catalogue of layers, to help people browse the more than 1,200 layers created so far by its developer community.
The one million milestone comes at an important time for Layar. The company is ramping up its US presence, and hiring an Augmented Reality Strategist to boost its profile among brands and agencies.
