Samsung and LG handsets to support broadcast mobile TV service.
AT&T will finally launch mobile TV services based on Qualcomm's FLO technology in May, having missed its original 1Q08 target. The operator becomes the second in the US to offer FLO mobile TV after Verizon Wireless launched services in March last year.
AT&T's basic channel line-up will be the same as Verizon's, including MTV Networks' Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, NBC, CBS, ESPN and Fox, but will also feature two as yet unconfirmed 'exclusive' channels.
The service will be supported by two handsets - LG's Vu and Samsung's Access.
