Variety reckons Kutcher - arguably better known for his troubled marriage to Demi Moore and his tweeting than his movie career - is being lined up to play Steve Jobs in the mobile 'Jobs'.
The indie pic will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern, whose last film was Swing Vote. It will start production in May.
Kutcher's private life has distracted attention from his acting, even though he's been in some pretty big successes such as Butterfly Effect and What Happens in Vegas. He also took over from Charlie Sheen in the sitcom Two and a Half Men.
Reportedly, Sony Pictures is also developing a Jobs pic, based on the bestselling book by Walter Isaacson.
