Access to free and paid applications developed for a larger 5-inch touchscreen.

Archos has confirmed the existence of its Android-based Archos 5 Internet Tablet following several leaks.

In the UK the device is priced at £349 for the 500GB version and £199 for the 8GB model, available from September 16th.

It comes with 5-inch touchscreen, HD video, GPS, wi-fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 and an FM receiver/transmitter.

Users will be able to access Android apps from Archos's AppsLib Store through the device and download in one-click, with the application resizing to fit the larger screen in portrait or landscape view.

In addition the Internet Tablet will include several pre-installed Android apps, including eBuddy Twidroid, Craigsphone and Thinksfree.

The Archos 5 also features Mewbox a music download service available in the EU and offering around four million DRM-free tracks from 13,000 labels.
