Apple v Motorola: round one to Moto

US International Trade Commission (ITC) rules in Moto's favour.

This is just one of a tangled web of mobile IP lawsuits occupying the smartphone space right now.

Apple itself has sued Motola, HTC and Samsung over its mobile innovations.

But in the case of Moto, the ITC has decided that the US firm's smartphones have not infringed on three patents that Apple holds. However, the preliminary ruling still needs approval by a separate commission.

Of course, what adds spice to the whole affair is the fact that Moto is now owned by Apple's arch nemesis in the mobile OS space, Google.
