Apple tablet set for business & productivity apps explosion?

So says a survey from Appcelerator.

A survey of developers by tech firm Appcelerator reveals that they are most likely to build business and productivity apps for Apple's tablet, which is expected to be unveiled tomorrow.

Entertainment apps were the second category, followed by Social Networking, Education and Games. The results are interesting, because games are expected to take a prominent role in tomorrow night's launch - the big US games blogs have all been invited.

Appcelerator also asked its developers - who tend to be web developers looking to build native apps for mobile devices - which platforms they're "very interested" in developing for.

86% said iPhone, while 68% said Android. Apple's tablet was the third most popular with 58%, then there was a sharp drop to BlackBerry (21%) Palm Pre (13%), Symbian (10%), Maemo (8%) and Moblin (5%).

Meanwhile, just 12% of Appcelerator's respondents said they're unhappy with Apple's approval process. 64% said they're "somewhat happy", and 24% said they're very happy.
