Apple staff to receive $250 discount on iPads

Reward for the company's record breaking success.

Apple CEO Tim Cook made the announcement at a 'Town Hall' session, a meeting which gathers the employees to discuss company news.

9to5Mac claims Cook sent out an invitation email on Tuesday, 24th January, requesting everyone to report to the Town Hall in person or via their web portal.

Cook revealed plans to reward Apple staff for the impressive sales the company experienced in the fourth quarter.

Those purchasing new iPads can expect to receive a $250 discount, while Mac buyers will receive $500 off, according to the report.

This will be in addition to the 25 per cent discount that staff members already have and the promotion is expected to begin in June 2012.

However, employees can only use the offer once every three years and must have been working with Apple for at least three months. Presumably the stipulations have been put in place to prevent bulk buying and reselling.
