Plus another 50k defunct apps.
When Apple CEO Steve Jobs takes the stage at tomorrow's Autumn press event, one of the stats he's likely to reveal is 250,000 apps in the App Store.
The news is already out though, thanks to analysis from 148apps.biz, whose metrics show the store passed the 250k milestone over the weekend.
It also claims that just under 50,000 apps are now no longer available for download, meaning that more than 300,000 apps have been released for iPhone since the App Store's launch in July 2008.
According to 148apps, the average price for an iPhone game is currently $1.24, while it's $2.90 for a non-game app - an average of $2.66 overall.
It also reports that Books is the most popular category by number, with nearly 44,000 active apps at the time of writing.
