$700,000 paid out in Q4 alone.
The figures were revealed as part of the announcement of Apple's 1Q financials, which were stunning even by the firm's own stellar standards.
Apple's revenue for 1Q (which is actually the four calendar quarter) was $46.3 billion, which is a 73 per cent rise on Q4 2010 and net income hit $13 billion from $6 billion the previous year.
The firm also confirmed that it has paid $4bn to developers. That's $3bn in the last 18 months since Apple announced its first $1bn pay out in June 2010.
By October 2011, Apple stated there had been over 18 billion downloads on its App Store.
That was during the unveiling of the iPhone 4S, which some analysts scoffed at, but which went on to achieve 4m sales in its opening weekend. Now Apple has had the last laugh as it says 37 million iPhones and 15.4 million iPads were sold in Q4, marking its most successful quarter ever.

That means iPhone and iPad sales more than doubled from 16.2 million and 7.3 million respectively compared to Q4 2010.
Apple also said it expected sales of $32.5bn for its next quarter.
