New filing uncovered around accelerometer and gyro stabilisation.
AppleInsider has been snooping around the US patent office and uncovered an application by Apple entitled "Accelerometer/Gyro-Facilitated Video Stabilization."
It describes how an iPhone might use motion sensing data to compensate for any jittering in a recorded video.
The filing goes on to explain how gyroscopes and accelerometers can provide motion data for software on the device, but that the level of shakiness between frames prevents this data from being the whole solution.
The new system would improve this by selectively controlling the motion stabilization feature, only adjusting and improving the video captured when the system determines it is necessary.
