Reports say device could take the best bits of iPhone and mix them with essence of MacBook.
An insider appears to have stumbled on evidence of a new Apple product pitched somewhere between an iPhone and a MacBook. The latest claims emerged on a New York Times blog. You can read it here, as well as copious amounts of further speculation in the comments section below.
It comes following years of speculation as to whether the notoriously tight-lipped company would make a move into the massively lucrative netbook market.
In the past Steve Jobs has been quoted as saying “we don’t know how to build a sub-$500 computer that is not a piece of junk.”
However, when questioned in this week's earnings conference call the Apple CEO claimed the firm was taking a ‘wait and see’ attitude to the netbook market.
Many have speculated that judging by the massive growth other firms have enjoyed in the sector, it is only a matter of time before Apple makes a move of its own.
