New trademark filed as rumour mill points to June street-date for much-hyped tablet
To be honest, there's so much hearsay and conjecture flying around concerning Apple's imminent entry into the tablet market that we could write ten stories a day about it.
Sometimes it feels like we are. So instead, here are the two most volumous reports floating around today in the form of one easily digestible story:
The Apple iSlate will in fact be called the an iPad - MacRumours says Apple dummy company Slate Computing used the Canadian trademark database to register the iPad trademark in July 2009. The trademark was also been registered in Europe and Hong Kong last July, and just this week in Australia and New Zealand.
The new device, whatever it end up being called, won't make it into stores until June due to 'minor' issues with battery life and durability - AppleInsider cites a note from Kaufman Bros that asserts that although the iSlate/iPad will be unveiled next week, it won't see the light of day for another five months as Apple sort those niggles.
So there you go. More on Apple's latest and greatest tomorrow. 100 per cent guaranteed.
