Landscape keyboard, movie and TV rental, laptop tethering, MobileMe find & wipe and 1,000 new APIs.
Apple has detailed more of the functionality offered by its iPhone 3.0 OS at the WWDC today.
In addition to the details Apple unveiled back in March, the company has unveiled a few other nifty little capabilities, which will be available to all iPhone 3G S owners and any iPhone 3G/iPod Touch owners who download the update on June 17th.
The stand-outs include not only the ability to track down and find a lost iPhone using Apple's MobileMe software, but also the ability to remotely wipe the device clean should it have fallen into unfriendly hands.
The 3.0 OS will also sport a landscape-oriented keyboard, movie and TV show rentals, in-app billing (but only for paid-for apps - free stuff must remain free), the ability to hook the device up to a PC or laptop and use asa modem, HTTP audio/video streaming, parental controls and apps embedded with Google Maps.
Apple says there are more than a hundred new features in total. The iPhone 3.0 OS will be available on June 17th as a free software update via iTunes 8.2 or later for all iPhone customers. iPod touch customers will be able to purchase a software update for £5.99 (inc. VAT).
